Frequently asked questions
How does the free trial work?
Tap Start 24-Hour Free Trial and every feature is unlocked for 24 hours. When the trial ends, a one-time $9.99 purchase unlocks the app permanently. Nothing is charged unless you choose to buy.
Is this a subscription?
No. MyCarPlay Unlock is a single, one-time purchase. There are no renewals.
How do I restore my purchase on a new iPhone?
Open Settings in MyCarPlay and tap Restore Purchase, signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with.
Does MyCarPlay include channels, movies or shows?
No. MyCarPlay is a player. You add your own media servers, playlists and files that you own or are authorized to use.
Why can't I see video on my car's screen?
Video on the CarPlay display only works when your vehicle supports CarPlay video and the car is parked. iOS and your vehicle control this. In other vehicles MyCarPlay plays audio with CarPlay's Now Playing controls.
My Plex server isn't found.
Enable Remote Access in Plex Media Server settings, then link again. A local address such as 192.168.x.x only works when your iPhone is on your home network.
A video won't play.
The player shows the error and server status. Check the server is reachable from your iPhone and that the format can stream to iPhone. Some formats may need server-side transcoding.
Can I watch Netflix or other streaming apps?
No. MyCarPlay does not capture or bypass protected (DRM) video from other apps.
Where are my passwords stored?
In your iPhone's Keychain. MyCarPlay has no account system and no servers of its own.
How do I request a refund?
Purchases are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account and choose the purchase.
