MyCarPlay · Effective October 14, 2026

MyCarPlay is built by Romeoz Apps. The short version: MyCarPlay has no account system and no servers of its own, and we do not collect, sell or share your personal data. There are no analytics SDKs, no advertising networks and no tracking.

Information we collect

None. Romeoz Apps does not receive information about you, what you watch, or the sources you add.

Data stored on your device

The media sources you add (server addresses, usernames, passwords and access tokens) are stored in your iPhone's Keychain. Your library cache, favorites, playback positions, imported video files and settings are stored locally using standard iOS storage. This data does not leave your device unless you have iCloud backup or iCloud Keychain enabled, in which case it is handled by Apple under its privacy policy. Deleting the app removes this data.

Connections to your sources

MyCarPlay connects directly from your iPhone to the servers and playlists you add (for example your Plex, Jellyfin or Emby server). Those services receive the requests your iPhone makes and are governed by their own privacy policies. When you link a Plex account, MyCarPlay talks to plex.tv to obtain an access token and list your servers.

Local network

MyCarPlay asks for Local Network access so it can reach media servers on your home network. It does not scan or collect information about other devices.

Purchases and free trial

The one-time MyCarPlay Unlock purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details. Starting the 24-hour free trial is recorded by the App Store as a free in-app item, which is how MyCarPlay knows when your trial ends.

Children

MyCarPlay does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
